| We were more popularly known as "THE RETIRED OFFICER ASSOCIATION" or "TROA" before January 1, 2003. Some of you may not recognize of new nationally chartered name, please refer to the statement above. You are all invited to join the Broward County chapter today! You need not be retired to get in the MOAA's ranks! We are accepting members from those on active duty, retired, National Guard, reserve, former commissioned army officers and warrant military officers of the following uniformed services: It includes the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. For surviving spouses of the deceased military officers, there is an auxiliary membership available.
Right now, we have monthly social events at different establishments all throughout Broward County (see our "CALENDAR OF EVENTS" for more details) from September through May. A monthly board of directors/business breakfast meeting Officers Association is also conducted on the second Saturday of these months at the Pompano Beach Elks Lodge at 9 in the morning. All our army officers are encouraged to be present in all of our events.
